CLASS DESCPRIPTION

THE COURSE IS DESIGNED TO DEVELOP STUDENTS’ SKILLS IN ACADEMIC DRAWING AND PAINTING THROUGH A STUDY OF NATURE. THE FIRST YEAR COURSE OF STUDY FOCUSES ON STILL LIFE, COMPOSITION AND AN INTRODUCTION TO DIFFERENT PAINTING AND DRAWING TECHNIQUES. SECOND YEAR STUDENTS WILL WORK ON LANDSCAPES AND LIVE PORTRAITS AS WELL AS DEVELOP THEIR ABILITY TO DISPLAY ARTWORK PROFESSIONALLY, TO THINK ABOUT AND ARTICULATE IDEAS BEFORE PRODUCING THE WORK, AND TO INCREASE THEIR AESTHETIC SENSITIVITY. STUDENTS WILL LEAVE WITH PORTFOLIOS OF WELL CRAFTED ART WORK THAT MAY ASSIST THEM IN CHOOSING THEIR FUTURE CAREERS.

LESSONS ARE 90 MINUTES, GROUP AND PRIVATE SESSIONS, HELD ON THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
